Haha that’s funny. I have a hard time with the first few weeks. I like to wait until it’s just really talented people. Watching bad people makes me so uncomfortable! Justin Guarini will be hosting video blogs once again on Fancast to give viewers the down low on this season’s contestants. It’s that time of year again, American Idol Season 8 premieres Tuesday, January 13th at 8/7c. The second part of the premiere airs Wednesday January 14th at 8/7c.
I have a feeling that FOX is going to dominate the ratings this week. I’m one of those people who turns on Idol for the first few weeks just for the guilty pleasure of watching people make complete fools of themselves on national TV – and I know there are plenty of us out there.
The American Idol website has already posted photos from various auditions around the country. Full episodes of the new season will also be available to watch online through the official FOX website the day after they premiere on TV.
One of the most popular shows on television also received a website makeover before the premiere of season 8. FOX has launched a new version of “My Idol” which is a social network built around the American Idol community. On My Idol you can upload your own photos and join discussions about season 8 with other American Idol fans.
FOX has also added an American Idol calendar to the website and a new online video player that allows you to watch clips of the show, auditions and back stage footage (It already has 10 or so videos to watch). You can check out the official American Idol Season 8 website here.
